Look at me,
Tell me everything you see.
What do you see? Are you sure you're seeing me?
I promise you that you're hardly catching a glimpse of what I really am.
If you could look deeper,
You'd see the ever-present demons in my mind,
& How hard they are to keep confined.
You'd see all the scars, hidden underneath my skin:
One for every single time I've thought about feeling the sweet release of the razor,
Or dreamed about the loving, easy, & soft embrace of death.
If you could look a little bit deeper,
You'd see the monsters blocking my heart,
& You'd see them whispering to me-
You'd hear them
It takes over your mind
Kills your happiness
Puts you in a nothingness void
Full of pain and sorrow
It kicks you down
Hard to the ground
Gives you thoughts
That you never would of thought
Brings back memories
That you never wanted to remember
Makes you cry
Even though joy was all around
Keeps you up at night
In a numb state
Where all you feel is sadness
You feel dead
And you do something to make sure your alive
Even though you never thought you'd do something like that
Everything is wrong
Nothing can be right
You lose you hold on happiness
Once you think you're holding it tight
You watch it float away
Into to that wa
I cut my wrist tonight,
just to feel the pain.
I pressed the blade so deep,
the blood fell like rain
I watched it flowing fast,
down onto the floor.
My life started draining,
untill of me there was no more.
I awoke into darkness,
with pain inside my chest.
There sitting beside me
were those who failed the test.
What have I done for this!?
I cried out in shame.
whispering from beside me said
there was only me to blame.
now I am lost to the night,
of which I will never rise.
and whispers in my heart,
all the lost souls cries.
You were there when I slipped
Something inside just skipped
The ground fell from beneath me
And I fell into the sea
My world dimmed and numbness set in
Water choked me and I forgot how to swim
My body got cold
And death had a hold
But you were there underneath me
You were where you needed to be
Your breath kept me warm
You made me glad I was born
I felt your heart beat
And finally found my feet
Maybe I'm not strong
But at least I have you to help me along
